13.2.3 RF Input Test Point
The RF test point has an attenuation of 28dB therefore with a optimal input level of +48dBmV, the level measured at the test
point will be +20dBmV. Use this test point to avoid outages due to the need to measure the transmitter input level.
13.3 RF QAM Input Level Setup
For setting the QAM RF drive level into the Optical Transmitter Card the following steps shall be taken:
1.
On the
Mux
tab of the DVIS GUI, see Figure 13-2, set the output selection to
RF Only
.
For more information about
Mux tab settings refer to
“7. Mux Tab - Configuration” on page 7-1.
2. Click the
Submit
button to save any changes made on the page.
3. Refer to the
RF Output
tab of the GUI, Figure 13-3, to determine the RF channel that the DVIS is configured with or
if it has not yet been configured, do that now. For more information about RF Output settings, see
4. If a change was made on this page, click the
Submit
button to save and apply the change.
5. Connect a QAM Level Meter to the DVISm front panel
MODULATOR OUTPUT
port, Figure 13-4, and tune the QAM
Meter to the RF output channel. Measure the RF Level present.
