5.5 Network connection of the fusionTrack device
Connection of the fusionTrack to an IT-NETWORK that in-
cludes other equipment could result in previously unidenti-
fied RISKS to PATIENTS, OPERATORS or third parties. A
direct connection between the fusionTrack device and the
host PC must be used. Otherwise the integrator shall apply
chapter 14.13 of IEC 60601-1.
The fusionTrack uses a Gigabit Ethernet 1000BASE-T (IEEE 802.3ab) interface to communicate with
the PC. The fusionTrack factory setting uses 172.17.1.7 as the static IP address. The fusionTrack must be
properly powered (see Section 3.2.1) and connected to a PC.
The Ethernet adapter of the host PC must be configured as indicated in Table 5.4. For some hardwares,
not using jumbo frames may result in a much lower frame rate, see Table 5.5 for typical frame rates.

Table 5.5: Typical frame rates (Windows PC Intel i5-4690K). Green maximum performance, orange de-
graded performance.
The fusionTrack device can be used a Ethernet to USB adapter, however, the performances are not
guaranteed. Tests performed by Atracsys show that the Ethernet to USB adapters listing in Table 5.6 allow
a smooth usage of the GUI demo program.
