AtlasPRO User Manual 2020
Basic Preflight Checklist
1.
Ensure all screws are tight and in place
2.
Ensure all props are smooth, stiff, bolted into place tightly and facing upwards
3.
Ensure tail servo is not loose and there is no slop in the servo
4.
Ensure all propellers are secure and motor bells are tight
5.
Ensure there is no damage to the aircraft hull, chipped paint is an indicator of possible damage
6.
Ensure landing gear is stiff and locks into place securely, ensure antenna leg is secure and antenna is not damaged
7.
Watch for objects that might cause interference or drone might fly into, above or around the flight area. Wires, birds, trees etc.
8.
Ensure all no-fly zones are respected and flight altitudes are appropriate for the area.
9.
Ensure the flight area is large enough to avoid contact with aircraft on takeoff or landing and GNSS drift is not an issue. (3m radius)
Preflight Operations
1.
Check for damage of all hardware prior to use/turning it on, see above.
2.
Check batteries are charged
a.
AtlasSTATION
i.
radio module: single press on top left button
ii.
iPad: must be turned on, look at top right of screen
b.
Smart Battery
i.
ensure the battery is locked securely into the aircraft
ii.
single press of front button to check power levels
3.
Unfold AtlasPRO
a.
Ensure motor arms are locked into place
b.
Ensure landing gear are open and locked into place
4.
Connect payload/sensor
a.
Ensure ground clearance is sufficient for free movement and self calibration of gimbal
b.
Ensure lens cap is off
c.
Ensure SD card is in place and has memory available
5.
Boot up AtlasPRO
a.
Insert Smart Battery into aircraft
b.
Ensure battery locks into place securely and cannot be removed without unlocking it
c.
Press, press-hold to turn on
d.
Watch for LEDs on wingtips and tail
e.
Watch for tail servo activation
f.
Watch for gimbal movement and stablization
g.
Listen for 5-tone song indicating power is on
h.
Keep aircraft on the ground as motionless as possible
i.
Listen for 3-tone sound indicating system ready to fly
6.
Turn on AtlasSTATION
a.
Radio module button on upper left, press, press-hold
b.
iPad button on left upper edge, press-hold
7.
Ensure networks are all operational
a.
AtlasSTATION
i.
Wait 1min from activation
ii.
Enter WIFI Settings on iPad and check connection has been established with radio module
a.
If using v2.1.XX or above, WIFI connection is completed within AtlasAPP
iii.
Within AtlasAPP Settings --> AtlasMESH Console, check connection is established
b.
AtlasPRO
i.
Within AtlasAPP Settings --> AtlasMESH Console, check that the aircraft is recognized and connected to the
AtlasSTATION
1.
if AtlasPROis not recognized, it may need to be paired to the AtlastSTATION
ii.
Within the control screen click "Connect"
8.
If AtlasPRO is turned on and inactive for 3 minutes it will start to make warning sounds. Flying the aircraft or turning it off will stop sounds.
9.
Turning off the aircraft/system only requires repeating of steps 5a-c, 6a-b.
a.
Removal of smart battery from aircraft is also acceptable method of turning it off, even if it is turned on
b.
DO NOT store battery in aircraft. It can accidentally be turned on and cause damage to tail servo
