BAND TUNE:
In BAND TUNE screen user can tune following options for one
selected band:
Figure 4.6: DRC BAND Tuning Screen
Gain:
With this gain slider user can modify DRC intensity slider (which is explained
in fig 4.4) for individual bands.
Operating Point:
User can also tune individual band’s operating point with this
slider that is same as OP TUNE screen’s operating points.
Attack and Release time:
Attack and release times are associated with compression
as well as expansion process. How fast a compressor/ expander react to the input
signal when a threshold is crossed, is determined by attack time.
Multiband Dynamic Compression in combination with attack and release time makes
different flavors like “dense”, “medium” and “open”. These refer to the density
produced by the processing. “Open” uses a slow multi-band release time, “Medium”
uses a medium slow release, and “Dense” uses medium-fast.
Noise Thresholds
:
This threshold is used for noise gating purpose. That is the
extreme form of Expansion process. Any signal below this threshold is considered as
noise and aggressively attenuated.
