CHLORINATOR INSTALLATION AND START-UP HANDBOOK
All of the figures in the handbook refer to the fast assembly guide.
2.
Chemical characteristics of the swimming pool water
The disinfection conditions and proper running of your disinfection unit across time are heavily dependent upon the
water's chemical parameters.
Before carrying out the installation of the chlorinator, please make sure that the water in your swimming pool
meets the following conditions (
Fig. 1
)
Parameter
Threshold
values
To increase
To decrease
Frequency to
be checked
Salt level
2.5~4 g/L
(kg/m

)
Add salt and filter constantly for 24h,
chlorinator off.
Partially empty the swimming
pool and fill it with tap water
every three
months
pH

Manually add pH-
Weekly
Free
chlorine

Increase the production (%) of chlorine in
the device or use the BOOST function and
allow filtration to run.
Decrease the production (%)
of chlorine in the device.
Weekly

Add alkalinity corrector, TAC+

Add calcium chloride
Add scale sequestering agent
every three

Add cyanuric acid only if necessary (heavy
exposure to UV or intensive use)
Partially empty the swimming
pool and fill it with tap water
Replenish a part of the water
in the swimming pool
every three
months
Metals (Cu,
Fe, Mn...)

Add scale sequestering agent
Annually
DO NOT use natural water sources. Use mainly water from the city
water system.
3.
Placement and usage conditions
(
Fig. 2
)
The chlorinator is an electronic device. In order to ensure proper operation throughout the year, the environmental
conditions of the electronic case's installation and that of the vessel must meet the following conditions:
Ambient temperature for use, minimum 5°C and maximum 40° C
Relative humidity for use, max. 80%
The unit must be installed in a well-ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight and outdoor weather,
as well as from floods.
4.
Positioning (vessel and case)
The case must be installed at enough of a height to allow for easy handling (browsing through the menu and
hooking up accessories) (
Fig. 3
).
If the case is installed above the BY-PASS vessel, plan a distance of no less than 50 cm so as not to impede
handling the cell (removal/insertion) (
Fig. 9
).
The BY-PASS vessel is designed for online installation. The BY-PASS feature is included in the vessel.
Adding a second by-pass may reduce the vessel's performance
(
Fig. 4
).
Prevent the wires between the case and the BY-PASS vessel from being overly stressed. That could damage
the connections, which is why the maximum distance between the case and the vessel is 1.5 m (
Fig. 10
).
The BY-PASS vessel must be the last item mounted onto the pressure circuit, after the filtering and after the
heating system (
Fig. 3
).
