Optional equipment may or may not be installed on the machine.

Magnetic Cross-Belt
Conveyor

The magnetic cross-belt conveyor assembly
(Figure 141) is comprised of a powerful permanent
magnet and a small, fast-moving conveyor. The assem-
bly is located on the lower end of the discharge main
machine conveyor.

Iron and steel scrap that is lifted from the discharge
main machine conveyor is held against the cross-belt
conveyor by the magnet. The conveyor flings the scrap
to the side of the machine where it drops to the ground.

The cross-belt conveyor has no user controls. It operates
any time the discharge conveyor operates.

If an optional collection box (Figure 142) is installed on
the side of the discharge conveyor, the scrap drops into
in the box. The box opens from the front for unloading
its contents.

WARNING

Falling material hazard.

Stand to either side of the collection box while
unloading it to avoid being injured by falling
scrap metal.



To unload the collection box:

1.

Knock the latches loose on each side with a ham-
mer.

2.

Grab the handle on the front of the box and swing
out the panel. The scrap metal then falls out.
