CAUTION
Before loading the 6710D on the trailer, check
the remote transmitter functions and response
rates by driving, turning and stopping the
machine.
• Always use slow speed when loading or
unloading the 6710D.
• Watch coasting times and “touchy” actions.
• Use new batteries.
• Watch for overhead power lines and obstacles.
• Keep within operating range but at least 20 feet
(6 m) away from machine while loading.
4. Test the remote transmitter by driving the machine.
Note reaction times before attempting to load the
machine onto the trailer.
5. Carefully drive the 6710D up onto the ramp.
6. Shut down and lock out the machine.
7. Push in one of the
EMERGENCY STOP
buttons. See
Figure 132 on page 152 for their locations.
8. Strap down the exhaust caps. Use a bungee cord
with J-hooks.
9. Secure the 6710D to the trailer.
Important
Use chains, as required, to meet DOT regulations.
Attach chains to the tow points on the machine
(Figure 138 and Figure 139). Ensure the chains do
not contact hydraulic or electrical lines, or any
other items that could be damaged.

10. Install any necessary flagging.
11. Note the total height of the load (Figure 140 on
page 157).
Transporting by Ship
1
WARNING
Avoid machine damage when preparing for
travel by ship. No provisions for lifting the
machine are built onto the 6710D.
• Use the track controls for moving the machine
onto a platform.
• Use appropriate measures for lifting the
machine onto a ship.
