Fault Diagnostic
With the correct wiring of the safety system and switched on the supply voltage, only the green LED
Power
may light. If one of the other LEDs light up, there is an error in the system, which can be
localized with the help of the LEDs.
*
Where such a fault is indicated, check the connections on the individual system components
(Electronic, Coil Cores). If the connections are correct, the function of the electronics can be checked
by applying an 8.2 k
Ω
resistance to all SKL inputs on the electronics (terminals 3,11 and terminals
4,11 ) and at the appropriate terminals of the SPK 12. If this check indicates that the electronics
are functioning properly, check the safety contact edges with a resistor measuring instrument
(ohmmeter). For this, interrupt the connections between the SKL and the safety controller or the coil
core SPK 12 and connect them to the ohmmeter. When the SKL is not active, the resistance has to
be 8.2 k
Ω ±
200
Ω
. With the SKL activated, the resistance may not exceed 00
Ω
.

- consider the mech. mounting assembly (page 6)
- Verify the coil core for mech. wear or damage
- Verify the steel cable loop; here it is to be consider
that both transmission coils are in the cable loop.
- Verify the contact points steel cable / gate wing
- Verify the supply voltage **

Test signal selected wrong or the
ISK 76-21 itself is faulty
- Pay attention to the testing notes (page 9)
- Replace the ISK 76-21 monitoring electronic
If the two LED’s for the travelling SKL (
Transmit Opening und Transmit Closing
) lights, an error
is present in the inductive cable transmission system.
The most common source of faults in this regard lies in poor connections to the coil core or improperly
installed cable system components (see mech. mounting on page ).
The cable loop resistance may not exceed a value of 3
Ω
. To determine the resistance, separate the
steel cable from the ground terminal, and then make a measurement between the end of the steel
cable and the ground terminal.
To high resistance values of the steel / gate wing loop could be affected by bad contact points
from the steel cable to the gate wing; by corrode/oxidized system components / gate components;
through bad conductivity of the gate wing (anodized aluminium gate wing, screwed gate wing from
individual segments etc.)
A further reason for a failure could be a too low supply voltage of the ISK 76-21 safety controller.
Here the minimum supply voltage is specified to U
min
=21,6V and must be absolutely kept.
