Lithium Battery Replacement
The lithium battery will require replacement at maximum intervals according to the manufacturer’s
instructions (typically 5 years).
To replace the battery:
1. Please read and observe the “7 Safety and Precautions” section of this manual.
2. If the VIPET is still powered up, shut it down by briefly pressing the POWER button (< 1 second) on the
rear panel.
If for any reason the VIPET is not responding, then proceed to the next step.

3. Disconnect the power supply to the VIPET at the equipment rack.
4. Disconnect the cabling and remove the unit from the rack.
5. Remove the unit’s lid by undoing the top screws.
The battery holder is clearly visible on the motherboard as shown in Figure 4.
6. Remove the battery from its clip, taking care not to short circuit it.
7. Replace with type: DURACELL CR2032 or equivalent.
8. Refit the lid.
9. Refit the unit into the rack.
10. Reconnect the wiring.
11. Reconnect the power supply to the VIPET.
