All GX5 switches can connect to
10/100
Fast Ethernet devices
through some of the Gigabit (1000BaseT) ports. If you have several
10/100 devices, choose a switch (GX5-424W, GX5-208) with
dedicated 10/100 ports for a more economical solution.
Mounting
your network equipment into a rack? Choose a
rackmountable GX5 switch (rackmount kit included) and all of your
equipment can be neatly stacked and mounted. If you’re not using a
rack, the switches can also be placed on a desktop.
To add Gigabit Ethernet over fiber, look for switches that include
GBIC
ports, like the GX5-2400 and GX5-424W. Plug in an Asanté
or industry-standard module for 1000BaseSX or 1000BaseLX for
longer distance connections with maximum reliability. The GX5-
424W features small form factor pluggable (SFP) GBIC modules.
