Summary
Prepare the installation site
• For information on the environmental
and power requirements, see the
RTM-ATCA-749X Installation and Use
manual.
• Operating temperatures refer to the
temperature of the air circulating
around the blade and not to the
actual component temperature.
Note
: Take special care in using a filler
panel in an empty front slot of the
shelf, while there is a RTM-ATCA-
749X installed in the same slot rear
area. Using a wrong filler panel may
conflict mechanically with the RTM
and may cause damage to the Zone 3
connectors or the air seal bracket of
the board. It is recommended using
the front filler panel available from
Artesyn with part number AXP-F-FILL-
PANEL.

Install the RTM
1. Locate the slot at the shelf's rear
side, where the RTM is planned to
be installed. This slot must be same
as that of the front blade.
Note
: If the front blade is already
installed, open the lower handle of
the front blade to power down its
payload. The blue LED on the front
blade starts to blink. Wait until the
blue LED on the front blade is lit.
When the blue LED is lit, the pay-
load is powered down.
2. Slide the latches of the RTM blade
in the direction indicated by the
arrows printed on both the han-
dles. This allows the handles to
release automatically.
3. Insert the RTM blade into the shelf
by placing the top and bottom
edges in the card guides of the slot.
4. Slide the RTM blade inwards by
applying equal and steady pressure
until you feel resistance.
5. Continue to gently push the RTM
until the RTM connectors engage.
