NOTE:
It is important to replace the filter at the
recommended intervals. Using the ionizer in conjunction
with dirty filters may result in dirty particles exiting the unit
and being attracted to walls, carpets, furniture, or other
household objects. These dirty particles may prove very
difficult to remove. Homes with excessive amounts of pet
dander, dust, or smoke may decrease the life expectance of
the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ filter and may
interfere with the ionization process. You may want to run
the ionizer less often and/or check the condition of the
Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ filter more frequently
in order to reduce particles from being attracted to surfaces
throughout your home, as mentioned above.

Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor
Grabber Max™ appliance produces less ozone than the UL
established limits of 50ppb. However, if concentrated, ozone
can be harmful to birds and small pets. To prevent ozone
build-up, we suggest using the ionizer in well ventilated
areas.
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Carefully unpack your Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber
Max™ appliance and place it vertically on a firm, level
surface.
2. Grasp the sides of the air inlet grill and pull up to
remove it.
3. Slide the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ filter
out and remove the protective plastic bag.
NOTE:
Once the filter has been removed from the
protective plastic bag, it will start to absorb odors and
should be installed in the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber
Max™ appliance.
4. Slide the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ filter
back into the unit and replace the air inlet grill (Figure 1).
NOTE:
Since the filter absorbs odors even when the unit is
off, we recommend that you place the unit in a plastic bag
when it is not being used. If you have additional filters,
keep them in their protective bags until you are ready to
install them in your Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™
appliance.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™
appliance on a table or desk in a central location of your
room, about 1 foot away from the wall. Never place the
unit in a pet carrier, kennel, or cage with an animal. As
with any appliance, make sure you locate the Fresh 'n
Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ appliance away from pets
and out of the reach of children.
2. Plug the unit into a 120V AC electrical outlet. Particular
care should be taken to locate the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor
Grabber Max™ appliance so that the power cord is not
accessible to pets.
3. Slide the speed switch to HI (III), MEDIUM (II), or LO (I).
The power indicator light illuminates when the power is
on.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.
2. To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance directly
into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
3. If the filter is covered by a bag when shipped: Remove
plastic bag before use.
4. Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas. To avoid fire
hazard, NEVER put the cord under rugs, near heat
registers, radiators, stoves, or heaters.
5. To protect against electrical hazards, DO NOT immerse in
water or other liquids. Do not use near water.
6. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is
used by or near children, or disabled persons.
7. Always unplug the appliance before moving it, changing
the filters, cleaning, or whenever the air purifier is not
in use. Be sure to pull by the plug and not the cord.
8. NEVER drop or insert any object into any openings.
9. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or
plug, if motor fan fails to rotate, after the appliance
malfunctions, or if it has been dropped or damaged in
any manner. Return appliance to manufacturer for
examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or
repair.
10. Use appliance only for intended household use as
described in this manual. Any other use not
recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire,
electric shock, or injury to persons. The use of
attachments not recommended by the manufacturer
may cause hazards.
11. DO NOT use outdoors.
12. Never block the air openings, or place on soft surface,
such as bed or sofa, as this could cause the unit to tip
over thus blocking the air intake opening.
13. Keep unit away from heated surfaces and open flames.
14. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or
mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void the
warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user
serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed by
qualified personnel only.
15. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock,
DO NOT use this appliance with any solid-state speed
control device.
16. DO NOT place anything on top of the unit.
17. Never place the unit in a pet carrier, kennel, or cage with
an animal.
18. As with any appliance, make sure you locate the Fresh 'n

INSTRUCTIONS
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to
reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a
longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension
cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord
must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. Care
must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not
drape over the countertop or table-top where it can be pulled on
by children or accidentally tripped over.

Congratulations on your purchase of the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor
Grabber Max™ appliance. Your Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber
Max™ appliance has an attractive design that can sit horizontally
on a table or desk. It is quiet and safe for use around household
pets and ideal for use around litter boxes, pet beds, and small
animal cages.
The Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ appliance
features Triple Filtration Technology, an optional ionizer, and
HI (III), MEDIUM (II), and LO (I) speed settings.
TRIPLE FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY
The Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ filter combines zeolite,
baking soda, and activated carbon to eliminate pet odors. The
zeolite neutralizes acidic odors, while the Arm & Hammer
®
baking soda absorbs organic odors and the activated carbon
battles gaseous odors. The optional ionizer also aids in the
removal of pet dander and other airborne contaminants from the
air passing through the filter for fresher, cleaner air in your home.
The best way to reduce odors is to remove the source. Since
most odors originate from pet waste, moisture, and water, it
is important to keep a pet’s habitat and litter area dry and
clean. This will help reduce the occurrence of odors and
maximize the benefit of using the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor
Grabber Max™ appliance.
IONIZER
Your Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ appliance has an
optional ionizer, which, when turned on, releases negative
ions into outgoing filtered air. Ions are tiny particles that
carry a positive or negative charge. These ions exist
naturally around us, in the air, water, and ground. Both
positive and negative ions are colorless, odorless, and
completely harmless. Negative ions help the air purification
process by attaching themselves to very small airborne
particles in the room. These particles take on a negative
charge and may join with positively charged particles such as
dust, pollen, smoke, and pet dander to form larger particles
that are then more readily captured by the Fresh 'n Clean™
Odor Grabber Max™ filter, or they may be attracted to
positively charged surfaces like walls or floors. This may
occur more frequently when the filter is nearing the end of
its functional life expectancy and is able to capture less of
the changed particles.
You may also note after extended use, that dust may have
collected around the grills or front panel. This is from the
ionization affect caused by the negative ions exiting from
the air outlet. This is additional evidence of the air cleaning
effectiveness of negative ions. The dust can be easily
removed with a clean, damp cloth or soft brush.
Finally, using your ionizer may result in an occasional
popping or cracking sound. This is a normal sound, generally
caused by a small build-up of ions that, when discharged,
cause the popping or cracking sound.
THIS PRODUCT IS EQUIPPED WITH A POLARIZED PLUG (a plug having one blade wider
than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. If the plug does not
fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact qualified personnel
to install the proper outlet.

4. To release negative ions into the filtered air, slide the
ionizer switch to ON (I). The ionizer indicator light
illuminates when the ionizer is on.
5. For optimum air filtration, operate the Fresh 'n Clean™
Odor Grabber Max™ appliance continuously. Its rugged
motor has been designed to give many years of use.
For continuous use, we recommend that you operate the
Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ appliance on the HI
(III) setting. For quieter operation or for use in a bedroom,
select the LO (I) setting.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
Always turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning.
1. Clean the outside of the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber
Max™ appliance with a soft, damp cloth.
2. Remove and wash the air inlet grill in warm, soapy water
(not dishwasher safe). Dry before replacing on the unit.
3. Remove dust from the top air outlet grill with a small,
soft brush.
WARNING:
Do not allow moisture to come in contact with
the main housing of the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber
Max™ appliance.
FILTER REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Check the condition of the filter every two weeks. If you
notice a reduction in odor removal and/or a significant
amount of dust or lint, replace the filter. We recommend changing
the filter every 3-6 months to ensure optimal performance of your
Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ appliance. For more
intense odors, replace the filter every 2-3 months.
1. Turn off and unplug the unit.
2. Remove the air inlet grill and examine the filter.
3. Slide the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ filter
into the unit and replace the grill.
DO NOT attempt to wash and re-use the filter. Make sure you
remove the protective polybag before inserting the new filter
into the Fresh 'n Clean™ Odor Grabber Max™ appliance.
