CLEANING AND STORAGE
Cleaning
Note: For safety reasons, worker should turn off the power switch before starting the cleaning
work. Do not use wet cloth to wipe any electrical parts or touch any electrical components
(such as plugs, switches, etc.) with wet hands in order to avoid electric shock.
The exterior of the device can be cleaned as needed.
The interior of the device should be cleaned after removing everything from the device.
To clean the exterior of the device:
1. Wash the device with a sponge or soft cloth.
2. Soap and water can be used. However, do not use abrasives or cleaning powders.
3. Dry the device with a towel or allow it to air dry.
The dust screen needs to be checked and cleaned every week. This step helps to dissipate
heat better.
The dust filter must be cleaned at a minimum every week or more often if necessary.

Use water to clean and dry with a rag. Replace after cleaning.
To clean the interior of the device
1. Use caution near the wires on the interior of the device; these are for the sensors that
monitor the internal temperature of the device.
2. Remove the device’s cap. The cap will remain tethered to the device.
3. Remove the vaccine stacks. Follow established cold chain vaccine handling practices with
any remaining vaccines.
4. Clean the cups that comprise the vaccine stacks with soap and water, if needed, and let
dry.
5. Clean the inside of the device using a hose, sponge, or cloth. Mild soap and water or a 1%
chlorine bleach solution can be used. Do not scrub the interior with abrasives or cleaning
powders.

7. Thoroughly wipe down the interior of the device with a towel. The interior of the device
can be air-dried if time allows.
8. When the interior of the device is drying, the device’s cap may be removed. However, if
the device is going to be used, it should be stored with the cap closed.
