To Lift from a Bed
(7 steps)
1 Place the sling under the resident as if it was a drawsheet.
2 Attach the shoulder loops to the hooks (A) .
See section, Attachment of Clip/Loop (Passive Sling) on
page 20.
3 Flex the resident’s legs and bring the sling leg pieces under
the thighs.
4 Take attachment points (B) and loop the leg pieces of the
sling underneath the resident’s thighs. (See Fig. 1)
5 Alt 1 Straight leg attachment
Attach leg pieces to the same side hook (A) as the shoulder
attachment (left straps to left hook and right straps to right
hook).

Alt 2 Crossed leg attachment
Bring the loops in a cross formation between the thighs.
Attach the leg pieces to the “opposite side” hooks
(A) of the
loop spreader bar. (See Fig. 1) See section, Attach the Leg
Clips/Loops (Passive Sling) on page 22.
6 Make sure the sling pieces are not twisted underneath the
resident.
Once the sling has been positioned and attached securely to
the loop bar then lifting can be carried out using the hand
control.

WARNING
To avoid the resident falling, make sure that
sling clips or loops are securely attached before
as well as during the lifting initiation.
