However, in the presence of particularly hard water, there will be a considerable and rapid
formation of limescale inside the appliance, with a resulting decrease in efficiency, which
in turn will damage the electric heating element.
Electrical connection
Before performing any type of work, disconnect the appliance from the electricity
mains using the external switch.
For greater safety, perform a thorough inspection of the electrical system, ensuring it
complies with all current applicable regulations, since the appliance manufacturer shall
not be held responsible for any damage caused by the lack of earthing of the system or
for any faults in the electricity supply.
Make sure that the system is able to withstand the maximum power absorbed by the water
heater (please refer to the data plate) and check that the cross-section of the electrical
connection cables is adequate, more precisely it should be no less than 1.5 mm
2
.
•
If the appliance is supplied with a power supply cable, whenever this needs to be
replaced, use another cable with the same characteristics (type H05VV-F 3x1.5 mm
2
,
8.5 mm in diameter).
The power supply cable should be threaded along the special passage provided in the
rear part of the protective cap until it reaches the thermostat housing.
Electrical connection should be made directly to the thermostat terminals (M fig. 4)
(respect the L-N polarity).
To disconnect the appliance from the mains, use a bipolar switch which complies with
all current applicable regulations (contact opening min. 3 mm); it is preferable if this
is fitted with fuses.
The appliance must be earthed and the earth wire (yellow-green in colour and longer
than the others) must be connected to the terminal marked with the symbol (fig.
6).
Secure the power supply cable on the protective cap using the special cable clamp
supplied with the appliance.
The use of multiplugs, extension leads or adaptors is strictly prohibited.
It is strictly prohibited to use piping from the water, heating and gas systems for the
appliance earthing connection.
The appliance is not protected against effects caused by lightning.
Before switching the appliance on, make sure the supply voltage complies with the
value stated on the appliance data plate and that the appliance itself is filled with water.
•
If the appliance is not supplied with a power supply cable, choose one of the following
installation modes:
- connection to the fixed mains supply using a rigid pipe (if the appliance is not supplied
with a cable clamp);
- with a flexible cable (type H05VV-F 3x1.5mm2, 8.5 mm in diameter) if the appliance
is supplied with a cable clamp.
Start-up and testing
Before powering up the appliance, fill the appliance up with water from the mains supply.
Filling is performed by turning on the domestic mains tap and the hot water tap, until all
air has been completely expelled.
Visually check for water leaks, even from the flange (F fig. 7), and tighten the screws (C
fig. 7) slightly if necessary.
Power up the system using the external switch.
Adjusting the operating temperature
The thermostat is calibrated in the factory, to a default temperature of approximately 70
°
C.
If you wish to reduce the temperature, disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply,
