Mounting
To attach the forcemeter one of the steel shackles supplied is attached to each side. The bolt
is inserted into the hole of the forcemeter housing. The screwed-on spacer rings centre the
forcemeter, they are not designed for taking up loads.
The shackles are used to connect the pull rope on one side and the tree on the other side to
the measuring device.
CAUTION!
The Forcemeter is designed exclusively for use with the steel shackles supplied!
All other attachment devices such as carabiners, ropes, eyes, hooks, so-called soft shackles,
and similar can cause incorrect measurement results and damage the forcemeter (especially
the attachment of the round spacers)!

4.1.3 Inclinometer
PTQ inclinometers measure the inclination of the part of the tree to which they are attached,
usually the base of the trunk. With the measured data of an inclinometer, calculations of
stability (uprooting safety) can be made.
CAUTION!
Inclinometers show a temperature drift! This means that the displayed value changes with the
temperature of the sensor.
It is recommended to let the inclinometers adjust to the local temperature before measuring.
The "zeroing" should be carried out immediately before each pull. Protecting the inclinometers
from direct sunlight during measurement can help to eliminate drift effects.
