GETTING STARTED
Open the shipping carton and verify that all
equipment necessary to operate the system has
arrived intact. Refer to the following packing list for
information on what items are included with your
model. If any equipment is missing or damaged,
contact your Arena Luci dealer immediately.
n° 1 LED strip reel LS1532
n° 5 plugin power adapter
Before beginning initial setup of your projector,
make sure that there is no evident damage caused
by transportation. In the event that the unit’s housing
or cable is damaged, do not plug it in and do not
attempt to use it until after contacting your Arena
Luci dealer for assistance.
INSTALLING THE DEVICE
The LED strip is supplied wound in 5m reel; on the
back side there is a layer of doublesided adhesive
tape which facilitates assembly, protected by a film.
You can unroll the reel on a flat surface to prepare it
for installation. Arrange the strip so that the wires for
the electrical connection are near the power output
terminals. During the unrolling operation absolutely
avoid bends and twists of the strip because this can
damage the conductive tracks and welding of smd
LEDs on the strip, thus compromising the good
electrical contact between LEDs and tracks.
Plan your installation before removing the protective
tape from the adhesive at the back of the strip. Once
the adhesive has been fixed, removing the strip will
result in a significant loss of adhesive strength. To
ensure excellent adhesion, make sure that the
mounting surface is smooth, nonporous, flat, dry
and clean, free from oil or silicone coatings or dust.
The fixing surface must be intact. We recommend
using degreasing products before mounting to get a
better result. A clean surface also guarantees a
good thermal dissipation of the strip that will be
applied.
It is advisable to always apply the LED strip on
aluminum profiles of adequate dissipating power, so
as to effectively remove the heat produced by the
strip and ensure a long life of the LEDs.
When the strip is cut or when two pieces are welded
together or when the supply wires are welded to the
strip, it is necessary to check during installation that
there are no copper smears or welding points that
touch the metal surfaces: parasitic short circuits
between the copper pads and the metal surface can
turn off some segments of LEDs, causing a device
malfunction, or they can have damaging effects on
the power supplies.
To meet different installation requirements, the LED
strip can be sectioned with standard scissors at
regular intervals so as to be able to realize segments
of variable lengths. The exact sectioning point is that
corresponding to the copper pads that replicate the
+/ LED supply labels: cut accurately along the black
dividing line drawn between the two pairs of facing
pads. For construction requirements, the minimum
cropping unit is a 25mm long segment).
A cut in any other position of the strip irreparably
damages the segment enclosed between the pad
series, which therefore can no longer be switched on.
For each new piece made it is necessary to apply
the supply wires, plugging the power adaptors
included over the edge of the strip. Pay attention to
the polarity +/ printed on the edge and the colors
red/black of the adaptors.
Otherwise you can weld generic power supply wires
using a soldering iron. During welding do not exceed
the maximum time of 10 seconds of application of
the welder and keep the maximum welding
temperature lower than 260°C. The colors of the
wires must be easily understood, so as not to make
mistakes in the subsequent installation phases. If
possible use the same colors as the wires on the
head of the original reel and apply labels with the
polarity indicated.
In the same way, shorter lengths can be welded
together to obtain a segment of the desired length.
Never exceed the maximum total length of 5 meters.
The welding can be carried out using the copper
pads directly, surmounting the two sections on their
end part, or by means of electric wires if it is
