Condition:

It has come to our attention that during the assembly of some of  the affected snowmobiles,  Loctite,
which helps secure the driveshaft retainer to the driveshaft, may have been applied improperly or may not
have been applied at all. If either of these conditions exist, the driveshaft retainer may loosen resulting in
the possibility of damage to the chain case components.

Solution:

Remove the driveshaft retainer and properly apply  blue Loctite #243 to the driveshaft threads; then
tighten the driveshaft retainer to 9.0 kg-m (65 ft-lb). See specifi c instructions included later in this bulletin.

I

NOTE: Although some snowmobiles may have had Loctite properly applied, it is necessary to remove the

driveshaft retainer from all affected snowmobiles and reapply Loctite. Even if Loctite may have been properly
applied,  it will still be necessary to reapply Loctite since the effectiveness of the existing Loctite will have
been  lessened by the removal of the retainer.  See instructions included with this bulletin for the removal of the
driveshaft retainer and the proper application of Loctite.
