7.2 Application example and its connections

This chapter presents an application example for the two-winding transformer differential IED. The

example is a regular differential scheme with restricted earth fault protection on the high-voltage side.

As can be seen in the image below, the example application has two current transformers. The first

(upper) CT has the three phase current as well as the residual current (I01) connected. The second CT

also has the three phase currents but no residual current connected.
