Preparing the [ST1] cable
Information:
The cable for [ST1] is always required. The assignment of the pins depends on the type of
application.
To create EMC compatibility, the cable shield must be connected to a ground wire at both ends.
Prerequisites:

Required tools:
- Sharp cable pliers for cutting the cable,
- Stripping pliers or knife for stripping,
- Crimping pliers, see chapter 3.13.4 Product description, Accessories that can be obtained
from ARADEX AG, Mating connectors for [ST1]
- Additional tools if required.

Required material:
- Shielded cable that is suitable for your application.
- Mating connectors and crimp contacts for [ST1], see chapter 3.13.4 Product description,
Accessories that can be obtained from ARADEX AG, Mating connectors for [ST1]
- Shielding collar, shield clamp, or similar for establishing electromagnetic compatibility.

Required documents:
- Pin assignment plan. See chapter 3.7.1 Product description, Logical connections, [ST1]
design and pin assignment.
Procedure:
1.
Cut the cable to the required total length.
2.
Take appropriate measures to establish electromagnetic compatibility, for example, by
stripping the required area for a shielding collar.
3.
Install the mating connector as described in the assembly manual from TE Connectivity. See
the figures below.
