Preparing the [DC+/-], [/-], and, if necessary, [BR+/-]
wires for power connections
Information:
To ensure electromagnetic compatibility, the cable shield must be connected to a ground wire at
both ends.
The procedure for using cable lugs for switchgear connections is described here.
ARADEX recommends using cable lugs for switchgear connections so that the pre-assembled
wires can be inserted through the EMC glands.
Tip: Check whether the cable lug fits through the double nipple of the EMC cable gland. The
double nipple is screwed into the housing. It is the part of the EMC cable gland that has the
smallest diameter.
If the tube wire terminal you are using does not fit through the double nipple of the EMC cable
gland, change the procedure shown here as follows:
After cutting the wire to the required length, slide the complete EMC screw (including spring) onto
the wire. Then strip the wire and attach the cable lug as described.
