Calibration
Calibrating the pH meter
1. Ensure that the pH electrode is connected to the monitor.
2. Turn on the meter.
3. Remove the pH electrode’s protective cover.
4. Gently clean the electrode with distilled water and dry it off.
5. Insert the pH electrode in pH buffer solution pH 7.01
(make sure this is
25 °C)
and stir gently.
6. Allow the reading to stabilise and adjust the pH7 calibration screw using
the screwdriver provided until the display shows 07.01.
7. Gently clean the electrode with distilled water and dry it off.
8. Insert the pH electrode in an upright position in pH buffer solution pH
4.01
(make sure this is 25 °C)
and stir gently.
9. Wait until the value on the display is stable.
10. The value should now fall within the error range and calibration is now
complete.
11. Rinse the pH electrode in tap water.
12. Pour some storage solution into the protective cover and replace it on the
pH electrode.
EC, CF, PPM Calibration
1. Press the MODE key. Select EC.
2. Remove the EC electrode’s protective cover.
3. Immerse the EC electrode in EC 01.41 (/ 1413) calibration solution.
4. Allow the reading to stabilise.
5. Adjust the CAL calibration screw using the screwdriver provided until the
display value is identical to that of the calibration solution. Calibration is
now complete.
6. Rinse the electrode with tap water, and dry it with filter paper.
7. Replace the EC electrode’s protective cover.
8. For calibrating your EC meter, please use calibration solution with a value
that is as close to the value or values that you measure on a regular basis
as possible. In the greenhouse horticulture industry, this will usually be
12880 us/cm
(equal to an EC value of 12.88)
.
Please use fresh calibration solution for each new calibration.
