Using Parental Control
Locking a Time Period
Passport DCT lets you lock one time period so that viewing is blocked for a set period of time
every day. To do this, use the Lock Time option in the Parental Control preference as described
in the procedure below. Once you have specified the start and ending settings, you turn locking
on and off to manage blocking and unblocking of selected programming. For a detailed
overview of how parental control functions, refer to About Parental Control on page 113.
To lock time periods
8 To unlock specific ratings, press the up or down arrow button to highlight the locked
rating you want to unlock.
9 Press the SELECT button. The lock symbol disappears.
10 To unlock additional ratings, repeat steps 8 and 9.
11 From the rating column, you may select to do one of the following:
• To continue configuring the parental control options, press the left arrow button once
to return to the options display and select the next option you wish to set.
• To continue configuring other Settings, press the left arrow button twice to return to
the preference display and select the next preference you wish to set.
• To exit the Settings menu, press the EXIT button.
1 Press the MENU button until the Settings menu displays.
2 Press the up or down arrow button to highlight the Parental Control preference.
3 Press the right arrow to move to the Option column.
4 Press the numbered buttons to enter the four numbers of your PIN. You now see the
Option column.
5 Press the up or down arrow button to highlight the Lock Time option.
