INTRODUCTION

This document contains information needed to write interface code for the Aprilaire Model 8800 Communicating Thermostat . For wiring and
thermostat setup refer to the 8800 System Installation Manual (RPC part no . 10009416) .

PROTOCOl

The proprietary ASCII protocol is for communication between a Host controller and up to 64 Model 8800 Communicating Thermostats . The
protocol is based upon the Model 8870 Communicating Thermostat protocol, but has an expanded command set to utilize the additional features
of the Model 8800 Communicating Thermostat .
