TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE
If the unit appears to be malfunctioning, read through the OPERATION section of this manual first. If the problem persists, see
Troubleshooting below. The problem may be something very simple that can be solved without a service call.

Pilot doesn’t light.
Pilot valve turned off.
Turn on gas supply valve.
Pilot orifice is clogged.
Unclog pilot orifice.
Burner doesn’t ignite.
Pilot out of adjustment.
Adjust pilot.
Burner orifices clogged.
Unclog burner orifices.
Flame too high or too low.
Burner control valve is set to high or
too low.
Adjust burner control valve to desired
height.
Mismatch between gas type and
regulator insert and burner orifices.
Have qualified service technician
verify that gas type matches regulator
insert and burner orifices.
Gas supply is Inadequate.
Have qualified service technician
verify that gas supply is adequate.
Flames inconsistent.
Air is blowing pilot light out.
Redirect any fans or nearby
ventilation.
Air shutters need to be adjusted.
Have qualified service technician
adjust air shutters.
