2. Filter Duct Installation Instructions
Duct Frame-Out
1. Remove the existing insulation barrier.
2. Add a 46-1/2" stringer (A) to either side of the existing inlet frame-out (B). The inside dimensions of
the filter duct frame-out should be 27-1/2" x 43-1/2".
3. Add 2" x 4" filler boards (D) against the inlet side of both lower truss cords (E), flush to the top (attic)
side. (See Figure 2A.)
4. Install insulation (F) into the dead space between the frame-out and filter duct.
5. Apply caulk (C) over the stringers (A) and the filler boards (D).
6. Cover the insulation (F) with the plywood.
