De-icing: How it works
The de-icing cycles allow the fans to run at full speed for a specified amount of time to prevent them from
freezing in winter.
Only the two variables, and the first six relays can be used to de-ice fans. Make sure that only fans are
connected to these outputs.
De-icing can be used with or without an outdoor temperature probe.
If no outdoor temperature probe is used, de-icing occurs when the current stage is less than the Stop at
Stage value.
If an outdoor temperature probe is used, de-icing starts when the outside temperature is equal to or
below the
Start T° , and stops when the outside temperature is equal to or above the Stop T° , or when the
current stage is equal to or greater than the Stop at Stage .
The selected outputs de-ice one at a time evenly throughout the total cycle time.
Configuring De-Icing Cycles
1. Using the menu select arrow keys, navigate to Start/Stop→De-Icing .
*De-Icing must be enabled in the installation menu for it to be displayed in the Start/Stop menu.
*De-icing can only be performed on the two variables and the first six relays.
