Although the CL-C can be mounted at any reasonable height, integration (and therefore
immersion and believability) of the audio and video will be maximized if the CL-C is
positioned with its tweeter near to (or aimed at) ear height in the seated position.
Placement of the Left and Right Front Speakers:
If the setting lends itself, try
positioning the left and right front speakers at the opposite ends of the base of an
equilateral triangle whose tip is at the prime listening position (Figure 2). General
guidelines suggest a 30- to 45-degree angle from the prime listening position to the left
and right speakers, particularly for good stereo reproduction.
For best integration with video, try to keep the left and right speakers within two or three
feet of the edge of the video screen. Whichever position gets the speaker closer to seated
ear height is preferable, and if the left and right speakers must be either higher or lower
than ear height, aim them down (or up) at the listeners. This is not necessarily true for the
surround speakers, however.

General Guidelines for Placing Your Classico CL-C
Note
: The following positioning instructions are meant to be only a guideline for
your CL-C placement. Once your Classico CL-C is properly broken in, it should
perform to your satisfaction. If not, however, please refer to these simple placement
guidelines for some helpful tips. No matter which placement option you choose,
please keep the Classico CL-C at least two inches from the wall or surface behind it.
Sonics:
In cinema (and many television) sound tracks, the center channel is primarily
tasked with delivering up to 85% of the dialogue and 65% of the special effects. That
makes the center channel arguably the most important speaker in the surround sound
system (although the subwoofer probably generates the most fun), and placement and
sonic performance of the center channel is critical to the surround experience.
For surround concert performances, there is less consistency in which sounds are directed
to the center channel. Some sound mixers (or producers or engineers) may direct a great
deal of information to the center channel, while others may use it minimally.
Placement of the CL-C:
When placing the CL-C on a shelf or in a cabinet, be sure to use
the four gel pads (one under each corner of the CL-C) to isolate the speaker.
The CL-C should be positioned at the center of the video screen, either directly above or
below the screen. Try to keep the front left and right speakers as close as possible to the
same height as the CL-C. If the CL-C is placed on a shelf or cabinet top, position it as far
forward as possible to keep the front of the CL-C even with (or a bit forward) of the front
edge of the shelf or cabinet. If the CL-C must be placed further back on the shelf or
cabinet, try placing a flat sound-absorbent mat directly in front of the CL-C. For further
details or other options, please discuss with your local AGA dealer.
Please ensure that the shelf on which the CL-C is placed will support the weight of the
speaker and is well-secured to the wall brackets or cabinet, so that it will not rattle or
vibrate. If the CL-C is placed within a cabinet, try moving the speaker forward or
backward if it sounds "hollow." It may be beneficial to fill the space around the speaker
with books or other dense objects, and opening the back wall of the cabinet may help
reduce acoustic reflections within the cabinet.
