AM SEN_DAC Setting (External Source LOG Mode)

Set AM_SEN_DAC to Y dB/V Mod Sensitivity
From 9 kHz to 31.25 MHz, AM_SEN_DAC at Y = AM_SEN_LOG_25M *Y *0.1(Y = 0 to 25 dB/V)
From > 31.25 MHz to < 2 GHz, AM_SEN_DAC at Y = AM_SEN_LOG_1G *Y *0.1 (Y = 0 to 25 dB/V)
From 2 GHz to Fmax, AM_SEN_DAC at Y = AM_SEN_LOG_4G *Y *0.1 (Y = 0 to 25 dB/V)

ALC Gain Calibration

This is an external calibration to set the ALC BW DAC on the ALC. For each frequency band’s max gain
frequency, adjust ALC BW DAC until gain is maximized, but less than the gain limit. Set up equipment as
shown in

Gain limit = 40 dB/V (20 dB/V for downconverter band)

1.

Set to ALC mode = internal closed loop.

2.

If step attenuator option installed put into decoupled mode.

3.

Set Power Level = 0 dB.

4.

Turn on AM Internal mode and Linear mode.

5.

Go to first frequency band of interest (see frequency plan for list of bands).

6.

Step output frequency by 100 MHz until max gain frequency in band of interest is found.
Gain can be calculated by adjusting the power up by 1 dB then measuring the voltage change
ALC_AMP_MON is the voltage of interest.

7.

Set Gain = 1 / (V1 – V0) [dB/V].

8.

Adjust ALC BW DAC to maximize gain while keeping it below gain limit. Record DAC value in

Continue for all frequency bands.
