2.2  Cautions on Handling Optical Fiber Cables 

Optical fiber cables may degrade in performance or be damaged if han-
dled improperly. 

Note the following points when handling them. 

 CAUTION 

Do not pull the cable when removing the 
connector. 

Doing so may break the optical fiber inside the cable, or 
remove the cable sheath from the optical connector. 

 

 CAUTION 

Do not excessively bend, fold, or pinch an optical 
fiber cable. 

Doing so may break the optical fiber inside the cable. 
Keep the bend radius of an optical fiber cable at 30 mm or 
more. If the radius is less, optical fiber cable loss will 
increase.
