INTRODUCTION
This chapter describes the installation, connection and set-up of the
equipment that comprises the ME7840A Power Amplifier Test Station.

COMPLEMENT
The ME7840A is made up of the following pieces of equipment:
q Scorpion

Vector Network Measurement System (VNMS), Direct
Receiver Access (DRA) version:
Model MS4622C (10 MHz to 3 GHz) or
Model MS4623C (10 MHz to 6 GHz)
q Model MS4782X Power Amplifier Test Set
q System measurement software
q Current probe(s) (optional item)
q One or more external circulators (optional item, for use with
MS4782D Test Set
q Accessory Kit: Includes interconnect cables and 50
W
terminations
for Aux ports

UNPACKING and
INSPECTION
The ME7840A equipment has been securely packaged. The packaging
material and container should be retained in case the equipment must be
re-shipped or placed into storage.
The MS4622C or MS4623C DRA Scorpion

VNMS and the MS4782X
Test Set are each packed within heavy cardboard boxes.
Step 1. Carefully cut the sealing tape on the top box surface with a
packing knife.
Step 2. Open the box lids, and remove the upper layer of foam mate-
rial.
Step 3. Lift the equipment from the boxes. Two persons should do
this, as the equipment is heavy and bulky.
