First unpack carton carefully, arranging parts safely in your working area.
Intended Use:
This birdbath is designed for outdoor use. If it is used indoors, it will produce moisture in the surrounding area. Care
should be taken to use it only in areas where water will not cause damage to hardwood floors, carpeting, or other surfaces.
This birdbath should not be used indoors in areas of frequent foot traffic, because the moisture will cause floor surfaces to
become slippery. When using the electrical pump, it should be plugged into a grounded outlet that is equipped with GFCI
protection.
Selecting a Pump and Nozzle: This birdbath comes with two pumps and nozzles.
Electrical Pump:
This pump is intended for use with the "bubbling" nozzle. Although
the spray nozzle can be adapted for use with this pump (as shown
below), this is not recommended due to the greater power and
resulting spray height, which causes a higher splash rate and
requires more frequent "topping up" of the water reservoir in order to
avoid burning out the pump. If this alteration is used, exercise
caution and monitor the water level closely.
Solar Powered Pump:
The solar powered pump is designed for use with the spray nozzle,
but it will also work with the "bubbling" nozzle. If the spray nozzle
head is used, it must be attached to the bubbler tube.
It is important to note that this type of pump only works properly in
areas that are exposed to natural light, and the height of the of spray
will depend on the amount of sunlight. The solar panel should be
staked into the ground securely, facing the direction that offers the
most favorable exposure to the sun.
Pump Maintenance:
Pumps should be cleaned regularly in order to ensure a longer life. The following diagram illustrates the proper
disassembly procedure. It is important to understand that the pump must be completely submersed in water in order to
operate properly. Low water levels may cause burnout. The water level must be monitored closely. Do not operate the
birdbath for long periods using the spray nozzle if it is not properly maintained and monitored.
Winter care:
This birdbath is designed for outdoor use during the spring, summer, and fall. It is not designed to withstand harsh winter
weather conditions. Before winter starts, remove all of the water and store the birdbath inside a house, garage, or shed in
order to ensure a long life. The pump must be drained of all water and cleaned, if necessary.
