Motors

What are the differences between magnetic, pivot and rotary motors?
The three types of motors used for clippers and trimmers are unique and are designed to perform
best in different applications. Learn more about clipper motors.
What motors work best for what hair types?
For coarse curly hair, pivot motors are often preferred due to the higher torque they produce.
Pivot motors also generally perform better on wet hair. Because rotary motors can be tuned to
run at nearly any stroke per minute, especially high strokes per minute, they are often used on
clippers designed for high-volume, heavy-duty use where bulk hair removal is required.
