COM PORT VERIFICATION
Installing the latest Firmware revision, as well as operating the
ADXRS450 Evaluation GUI will require that the user know the
communications port which has been assigned to the ISEB
main board. With the ISEB main board connected to the PC,
the user should perform the following steps to determine the
assigned COM port number:
For Windows Vista:
1.
From the start menu, right click on “Computer” and
select “Properties”
a.
This should open the window shown in Figure 9
2.
Underneath the “Tasks” heading, select “Device
Manager”
a.
Windows Vista may request that the user allow
access to this panel, and Administrative privileges
may be required.
b.
The window shown in XYZ should now open
3.
Expand the “Ports (COM & LTP)” menu item
a.
The “ADI Inertial Sensor Evaluation System”
should be listed with an assigned COM port
number in parenthesis.

For Windows XP/2000:
1.
From the Start Menu, right click on “My Computer”
and select “Properties”.
2.
Click on the “Hardware” tab of the “System
Properties” window as shown in Figure 11.
3.
Select “Device Manager” to look-up the assigned
COM port of the ISEB hardware
a.
The Device Manager window should be
similar to that presented in Figure 10
