AXWire AX Series Wiring Information Program
/P<filename> sets the print-to-file option and the output <filename>. To run AXWire
with this command, enter AXWire /P<filename> at the MS-DOS prompt to create a
Postscript print file.
Alt-Key Editor Commands
The AXWire program offers you a simple Alt-key editor to block and manipulate the data
contained in the AXWire screens. Cursor movement around the screens is controlled by the up,
down, left, and right arrow keys. The table below lists the Alt-key editor commands.
Blocking
The blocking feature allows you to treat one section of data as a complete block. This block as a
whole can be copied, moved, or deleted. To mark a block, position the cursor at the beginning of the
section of data. Type Alt-L, and this line of data will be highlighted. Move down to the end of the
section and type Alt-L again. All the data between the first Alt-L and the last will now be
highlighted. To shorten or lengthen this data block, position the cursor at the new ending for the
section and type Alt-L.
Now that a block is highlighted, it can be manipulated. To copy the block, move the cursor to the
desired place for the copied data and type Alt-C. The block is copied into the specified place. To
move the block, move the cursor again to the desired place for the data and type Alt-M. The data
block disappears from its previous position and is inserted into the new specified place. If you
would like to delete the entire block, type Alt-D and the block is erased. Once you are finished
manipulating a block, it must be unmarked by typing Alt-U. The data block returns to a normal
background color, and you can resume editing.
Startup Screen
A startup screen appears when AXWire is first run. The screen includes statistical information
about the AXWire program. Specifically, the version of the program and the time and date of
creation. The statistical information will change as the program is updated.
