Quick Start Guide
The hot-plug port notes
The hot-plug port provides a connection point for a wide variety of USB peripherals.
It is
not
hosted and will only work when linked, through the K4u, to one of the
attached computers. The choice of computer is either automatic (ie. It is the same as
the currently selected focus for keyboard and mouse activity) or manual ( ie. hot-keys
are used to make the selection independent of the currently selected focus for
keyboard and mouse activity).
The expansion port
The K4u can be fitted with optional accessories. These include ‘focus’ indicators which
are used to help identify which desktop monitor currently has the keyboard and
mouse data focus. In addition, there is the K4 Controller: a small device with buttons
which can be used to select channels on the K4u. These accessories attach to the K4u
using the expansion port.
