Step 12 Install Hard Disk

Attach IDE Cable 

This motherboard has two IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) connectors. The primary connector (CN11) is
labeled PRIMARY. The secondary connector (CN9) is labeled SECONDARY. Both the primary master and
the primary slave IDE drives must be connected by cable as shown below.

The IDE connectors are 40-pin dual-inline bergs. This motherboard supports IDE Modes 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4,
IDE prefetch, LBA (Logical Block Address) mode, high capacity drives (over 528 MB), 32-bit data transfer,
and fast IDE transfer. These IDE features are configured in Peripheral Setup in WINBIOS Setup.

Disable the onboard IDE interface in Peripheral Setup to use an ISA ESDI, RLL, MFM, or SCSI hard disk
drive controller.
