B.7.13 USE WITH MANUAL EXTENSIONS
The manual extensions can be used only with the hook to increase the crane's outreach.
The maximum capacity of each manual extension is constant (see A.14), indicated in the load chart
and marked on a plate applied on the extension itself.
The manual extensions must be removed when not in use, otherwise the rated capacities shall be
reduced by their weights (see D.1).
In CE area, the safe use of manual extensions is ensured by the moment limiter (see UM for RLC
and 3XL/4XL).
INSTALLATION OF A MANUAL EXTENSION
The procedure for a correct installation of a manual extension is the following:
1) Put the extension onto a stable surface by means of a suitable lifting tool.
2) Slowly move the crane boom so that the extension enters it; check that the pin holes are aligned.
3) Lock the manual extension with the pin and secure with the safety lock.
EXTRACTION OF A MANUAL EXTENSION
If a manual extension has to be extracted from the crane boom, operate as follows:
1) Position the crane with the boom directed towards the ground:
2) Remove the safety lock and the lock pin.
3) Extract the extension until the pin holes are aligned; insert the lock pin and secure with the safety
lock.
