Turning the spreading vanes in the direction of rotation (Fig. 1/A) of the spreading discs (to a higher numerical
scale value) will increase the working width.
Turning them in the opposite direction (Fig. 1/B) will reduce the working width. The shorter spreading vane
distributes the fertiliser primarily in the centre of the spread pattern, whereas the longer vane covers the outer area.
Example for how to use the setting chart
Working width: 27 m
- Take the page of the fertiliser from the fertiliser list
- Refer to the chart for the vane position of the spreading disc corresponding to 27 m and position the
spreading vanes in accordance with chapter 4.2.
- With an on-board computer: enter the spread rate factor of the fertiliser into the on-board computer as a
first approximation for the calibration factor
Without an on-board computer: refer to the spread rate setting chart for the slide position and adjust the
slides accordingly.
5 Checking lateral distribution with mobile test kit (optional equipment)
Lateral distribution is influenced by the spreading properties of the fertiliser used. The most important
characteristics which influence the spreading properties are, as is generally known, granule size, bulk density,
surface quality and moisture. These properties can change e.g. due to environmental influences. For this reason
the values stated in the setting chart are only approximate values. We recommend checking the lateral distribution
of the fertiliser spreader by means of the mobile test kit. Refer to the corresponding operator manual for the
detailed procedure.

6.1 Side spreading
Almost full fertilisation up to the field edge is achieved, if you may fertilise beyond the field edge, e.g. your own,
adjacent fields to be treated identically (except near surface water). In this way any underfertilised edge strips are
