1. Safety Rules
The safety rules for using the rotary index unit are described here. Read also Part 1,
Safety Rules, in the operator’s manual of the FO M

series.

Before cutting the pipe/section, securely grip it in the main chuck and support
chuck. Otherwise the pipe/section may drop off during the cutting operation,
resulting in injury.
O
When gripping the pipe/section, wear leather gloves, and take care not to get your
hands pinched. If you get your hands pinched, your fingers may be cut or
crushed.
O
Before moving the X- and Y-axes, zero-return the Z-axis. Otherwise the laser
head and other moving parts of the machine may interfere with the pipe/section
and the parts of the rotary index unit.

Cutting of pipes and other sections reduces the dust collection efficiency as
compared with cutting of sheets. Provide good ventilation.
O
Install the light curtain as indicated on the floor plan drawing.
