Chapter 4: Modifying Advanced Properties

Interrupt Moderation Rate

To improve system performance, you can configure the interrupt 
moderation rate. This setting defines the maximum number of interrupts 
per second that the adapter is allowed to generate. Note that decreasing 
this value decreases the CPU usage. 

To specify or change the Interrupt Moderation Rate feature, do the 
following:

1. Access the Advanced Properties.

See “Accessing Advanced Properties” on page 58. 

2. Select 

Interrupt Moderation Rate 

in the Property box.

The Interrupt Moderation Rate page is displayed as shown in 
Figure 28.

3. Select one of the following options:

Adaptive —

 Interrupt throttle rate (ITR) = -1, no 

interrupts/sec, it is dynamically changed by the driver. 
This is the default setting.

Extreme —

 ITR = 3600.

High —

 ITR = 2000.
