Locally Administered Address
The Locally Administered Address property is a user-defined MAC
address that is used in place of the MAC address originally assigned to
the network interface card. Every network interface card in the network
must have its own unique MAC address. This locally administered address
consists of a 12-digit hexadecimal number.
To specify or change the Locally Administered Address, do the following:
1. Access the Advanced Properties.
See “Accessing Advanced Properties” on page 54.
2. Select
Locally Administered Address
in the Property box.
The Locally Administered Address window is displayed as shown in
Figure 33.

3. Select one of the following options:
Value —
Used to manually assign a MAC address to the network
interface card.
Not Present —
Uses the factory-assigned address on the network
interface card. This is the default.
