Section 5 Service Procedures
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the tumbler before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas tumbler before servicing.
• Close steam valve to steam tumbler before servicing.
• Never start the tumbler with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be
reconnected to ensure that the tumbler is properly grounded.

66. GAS VALVE ASSEMBLY
(Automatic Pilot Ignition Models)
Refer to Figure 12 and Figure 14.
a. Remove control panel.
b. Close gas shut-off valve.
c. Disconnect all wires from gas valve terminals
and disconnect gas valve union nuts.
d. Disconnect igniter wire and sensor wire from
electronic package.
e. Disconnect pilot tube from gas valve.
IMPORTANT: Purge air in the gas service line by
operating the tumbler in drying mode. Use pipe
compound resistant to action of L.P. Gas on all pipe
threads.
f. Remove screws holding gas valve and bracket
to stove assembly.
g. Remove spudholder and nipple from left side of
valve and plug from right side of valve.
NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram when rewiring gas
valve.
To reduce risk of fire or explosion, check
pipe connections for gas leaks with a non-
corrosive leak detection fluid. Do not use an
open flame to check for gas leaks!
