• When you hang your hammock for the first time, the weave may appear pulled or uneven. Give your
hammock a good shake from one side and it should straighten out. Do not be alarmed if hammock
appears too short when you first take it out of the pack. It will stretch out to its correct length with use.
• You may have to adjust the chain from time to time as the ropes relax.
• Store the hammock in a cool, dry place. Be certain that it is not wet or damp when rolled and stored,
or it may mildew or rot. If your hammock does get wet, let it dry thoroughly before storing. A water
repelling agent may be useful on the rope for additional protection.
• Although your hammock is intended for outdoor use, exposure to adverse weather conditions will
serve to shorten the useful life of the hammock and will affect its appearance.
• Squirrels, mice, birds and bugs sometimes use hammock-rope fibers for building nests. Dogs have
been known to chew on hammock ropes. Do not hang or store your hammock in an area where pets
may be able to get to it. Also, avoid storing near certain chemicals and pesticides.
• To clean the hammock, stretch it out on a clean, dry, non-abrasive surface. Wet it down with a hose
and use a soft cloth with a mild solution of warm water and detergent. Rinse the hammock thoroughly
and allow it to air dry completely before using or storing it. Do not use any product with bleach or
strong chemicals.
• Prior to each use of your hammock, inspect the ropes and other materials in your hammock, the
mounting hardware, installation points and trees, stand or studs from which the hammock is hung for
signs of wear-and-tear or weakness. Do not use if there are any signs that the supports are not in
proper condition.
