1.16 Drive Belts
To Replace
1. Remove screws from splash guard plate.
2. Remove belt from lower pulley, and then torque converter.
3. Loosen set screws(A) on both the u-joints where they couple to the drive shaft. (refer to fig. 2A)
4. Slide u-joint(B) to the right off the drive shaft to create a gap in the drive line to allow removal of
belt through gap. (refer to fig. 2B)
5. Install new belts through gap and reverse process to replace new belt.
Be sure to reset the gap
between the U-Joints to between 3/64 to 3/16

6. Replace cover and replace all fasteners.
