Recall from your memory, select the most alike film of hair
style and put it on the lit area of the light box.
Similarly, select the eyes, nose and mouth films that you think
look the most alike to the face in your memory. Stack them
on the lit area to make the composite face.
If you cannot find a suitable face feature film, you can draw it on the blank
transparent films provided.
When investigating a crime, the police sometimes ask the witness to describe the face of the criminals. A
facial composite is a graphical representation of the eyewitness’s impression of a face. A trained artist can
record it by sketch drawing in consultation with a witness or crime victim. Since trained artists are not often
available, interchangeable films of separate facial features similar to this kit are often employed. More
recently, computer software systems are developed to generate the composite by allowing the witness to
choose from a database of facial feature images. This is more flexible and makes fine modifications to the
images quick and easy.
Introduction:
In this activity, you will use the supplied facial feature films to
construct the composite of a face from your memory.
Battery Installation of the light box:
The light box requires 2 AAA/LR03 batteries. (Not included)
1. Unscrew the battery cover on the back of the device with a screwdriver.
2. Install the batteries according to the polarity indicated.
3. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw.
4. Replace the batteries when the light becomes dim.
