Functional description
The AP-65 hydraulic punch is a mobile work tool for punching round holes in wrought material. By the integrated
hydraulic cylinder the necessary punch forces will be provided - at a maximum pressure of 700 bar - with which the
wrought material can be worked on.
The hydraulic pressure is generated in an external pump unit (DSP 120 or AHP 03-1, also a foot pump can be
used) and transferred through a flexible hose to the connection of the hydraulic punch. The hydraulic oil generates
the pressure on the piston and the piston rod which move the tool (punch). The spring which is attached to the
piston rod is tensioned while the piston moves. The tensioned spring generates the restoring force which moves
back the unit to its initial position.
Commissioning
Connecting the hydraulic pump
As a drive we recommend the ALFRA-Hydraulic pump DSP 120 (Prod. No. 02027)
or AHP 03-1 (Prod. No. 03853). Optional foot pump (Prod. No. 02121).
1. Connect the selected hydraulic pump and the hydraulic hole punch with the hydraulic hose using the quick
couplings. Removed the caps on the hydraulic hose and on the quick couplings only just before connecting.
2. Insert the plug of the power supply of the hydraulic pump into the socket, making sure that the line voltage
matches the voltage specified on the device.
Tool assembly
Die
Insert the die first.
1. Loosen the set screw on the die bed.
2. Insert the die with the bare surface up (with the smaller diameter) into the die bed.
3. Tighten the set screw firmly.
4. Check the correct cutting clearance between punch and die before punching. Take the punch down slowly until
you can detect respectively verify the proper alignment of the punch and die.
