• Remove the espresso maker from
the power supply base before
filling it.
• Open the espresso maker by
turning it anti-clockwise, remove
the filter funnel, and fill the boiler
with cold water up to about 2-3
mm below the safety valve. (
fig. 4)
• Insert the filter funnel in the
boiler. Fill the filter funnel with
ground coffee up to the rim and
level it without pressing too hard.
(fig. 5)
It is best to use coffee that has
not been too finely ground, so
that the boiling water will pass
through the coffee easily but
slowly, absorbing all of its flavour.
DO NOT use other types of
extracts (such as barley) or finely
ground substances that could clog
the upper filter plate.
• Carefully clean any coffee from
the edges so that the gasket will
create a perfect seal.
Fig. 2
If you want to use the six-cup espresso
maker to make only three cups, fill the
boiler only half-way with water, up
to about 1.5 cm from the safety valve.
Then insert the reduction filter into
the filter funnel and fill it with ground
coffee.
• Check that the upper filter plate
and the gasket are properly
positioned in the base of the
upper body.
• Screw the upper body clockwise
onto the boiler until it is
completely closed. (
fig. 6)
• Check that the power cable comes
easily out of its slot.
• Place the espresso maker on the
power supply base (
fig. 7).
