When unit failure is not reported, loop the STM-n signal at the transmitting
node and at the receiving node. In this condition, the node reporting TU-3 Loss
of pointer contains the faulty unit.

Note(s)

In the upstream direction, “VC-3 Remote Defect Indicator” is activated.
