BATTERY CHARGE INSTRUCTIONS
Battery LiFE-PO4-70 must not be charged by a charger for other types of lithium ion (Li-Ion) batteries, since
the end-charge voltage of these latter is higher than that of LiFePO4 batteries. On the contrary, to charge
battery LiFE-PO4-70 it is possible to use most of the battery chargers for lead-acid batteries, provided that
their voltage settings fall within the battery charge parameters. Some smart chargers for lead-acid batteries
can only charge battery LiFE-PO4-70 at 90% of its capacity, therefore, we recommend using a charger for
LiFePO4 batteries. In any case, although a charger for lead batteris is not the optimal solution to charge
battery LiFE-PO4-70, there is not the risk of damaging the battery.
Warning:
before recharging the battery, make sure that the cables of the charger are not damaged, that the
cables terminals are clean, free of incrustations and adequately connected to the battery.
The tables below show the voltage characteristics that a battery charger for lead-acid batteries must have
in order to be used to charge battery LiFE-PO4-70.

Note:
if the output voltage is <11.2V, battery LiFE-PO4-70 goes into sleep mode. In this condition, most
lead battery chargers cannot charge the battery. Use a LiFePO4 12.8V battery charger to reactivate the
battery.
Remark:
if the charger has the desulfation function, make sure this mode is not activated during the battery
charging.
BATTERY BANKS ASSEMBLY
Battery LiFE-PO4-70 can be used to create battery banks by connecting multiple elements in series and /
or in parallel, respecting the permitted configurations shown in the table below.

Remark:
the notation xP means x batteries in parallel, example 2P means 2 batteries in parallel. The nota-
tion xS means x batteries in series, example 3S means 3 batteries in series.
Remark:
permitted configurations (connections) are marked with YES, those not permitted with
NO
. For
instance, it is possible to connect 3 batteries in parallel and 2 in series (3P, 2S), but it is not possible to
connect 3 batteries in parallel and 3 in series (3P, 3S).
Remark:
before assembling the battery bank, each battery must be fully charged and the voltage difference
between the batteries must be <0.02V.

Example of a 12V 400Ah battery bank: 4 batteries in parallel.
.
WARNING:
to build battery banks use only new LiFE-PO4-70 batteries; do not mix LiFE-PO4-70
batteries with LiFePO4 batteries from other manufacturers; do not use LiFE-PO4-70 batteries with
other battery types such as, for instance, lead-acid batteries.
